How to apply

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course (3 Years)

Objectives of the Course

On completion of the GNM course, nurses are able to:

  • Assess the nursing need of clients from birth to death.
  • Plan and carry out appropriate action to meet nursing needs.
  • Apply problem solving techniques in nursing practice.
  • Apply knowledge from the humanities, biological and behavioural sciences in functioning as a nurse.
  • Demonstrate use of ethical values in their personal and professional life.
  • Recognize the need for continuing education for professional development.
  • Demonstrate basic skills in teaching patients and giving nursing care to them.
  • Demonstrate interest in continued learning for personal and professional advancement.

Eligibility for Admission

  • Female candidates only
  • Minimum Age: 17 years
  • No Upper Age Limit
  • Passed 10+2 from any Recognized Board/Council
  • Rank in Common Entrance Test GNM (WBJEE)
  • Candidate shall be Medically Fit

Course Duration

  • A three (3) Years Course.

Admission Procedures

Admission is purely based on the merit list prepared on the basis of marks secured in Common Entrance Test GNM-2021 conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). Selection and Counselling will be made on Merit Rank Basis by Central Selection Committee (Nursing) for the academic session 2022-2023. For entrance test visit to www.wbjee.nic.in.

Intake 50 Seats per Year

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Nursing Course (4 Years)

Female candidate only.
Applicant must be a Citizen of India.
Applicant must be a domicile of west Bengal
Age minimum 17 Years on 31 st Dec of the admission year.
No Upper Age limit

Minimum Qualification:

  • The candidate must Pass 10 + 2 from recognized Board / Council.
  • Candidate must pass the subject with subject with individual pass mark in Physics,
  • Chemistry, and Biology (in both theory & Practical separately, wherever applicable)
  • Minimum aggregate considering above subjects taken together.
  • General & EWS – 45%, SC/ ST/OBC – Category –A/OBC Category B/ PwD– 40%
  • Candidate must pass in English in (10 +2).
Candidate shall be admitted once in a year.
Must Secure Rank in WBJEEB JENPAS (UG) 2026.
Candidate must be medically fit.
